October, 2008 - I am a travel agent and went to Secrets Silversands, Maroma and Capri at the end of October to check out these 3 resorts. Silversands is very beautiful, has many pools, good food quality, and wonderful suites, including very comfortable beds.

Some things to note about this resort: All restaurants are not open daily. There is no outdoor breakfast restaurant, in fact, only one outdoor restaurant with little variety. The pools are COLD. The ocean was warmer! The beach does have seaweed that they work hard to keep cleaned up. Very good pool and beach bar service. Check in and out was slow. There were a lot of little things that need to be taken care of, but I think eventually it will be great. This resort is very quiet with not a lot going on.

We visited Maroma and Capri and had a tour of each. Maroma has the best beach of the three, turquoise water and soft white sand. The rooms and views are beautiful too. This is a big resort with more activity going on. Seems like a younger crowd that's more active. Capri is similar, just smaller and more intimate. Capri has a nice mix of older and younger people with activities going on and excellent views.

Secrets has created something for everyone, it just depends what you prefer for your vacation.

10/08 - We had a very good experience at this location. The staff were excellent and very friendly during our entire stay. This is adults only all inclusive. The pools were excellent with there location to the individual rooms, but were a little cool due to the time of year. The jacuzzi areas that were attached or convenient to the pools were not heated and not what you would expect. The restaurants were excellent and a daily schedule is provided for the activities of the day, but a note should be made to indicate which restaurant will be closed that evening. The evening coffee service in the lobby bar is excellent before dinner, but should be extended to cover an after dinner service. Very nice vacation but would like to try the other Secrets resorts. 9/08 - My husband and I were there in September, 2008. The pools were plentiful and sparkling clean. Landscaping was nice, but plants are small still. The food was ok but restaurants were not open a lot of the time. They had one restaurant serve lunch and it changed names for the evening meal. Very boring menu. The wait staff were excellent but not enough of them. The maids and others that serviced the rooms did not speak English and not very helpful. The beach is horrible - worse than horrible. The day we arrived there was seaweed piled about two feet high all the way along the beach and it was still washing in very quickly. By the end of the week most had been removed. The entire ocean front is all rocks. The beach is not swimable at all so if you are looking for the crystal beach they show in their advertisements, it does not exist.. Hopefully they plan to rectify this some day. The complex was still under construction and a hotel right next door is also under construction. We could not even use our balcony because of all the noise and absolutely no orivacy. The front desk staff went out of their way to make things right. The others, forget it. The electricity and air conditioning were inconsistent and went on and off several times a day. We would never go back. Gina, TN
