REVIEWS 8/08 Our vacation at Sandals Dunns River was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We stayed in one of the mid category rooms and had a wonderful view of the gardens and pool. The room was beautifully decorated and had a great big bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub which was nice.Restaurants and food were excellent. Very good seafood available all the time. The weather was fabulous and we spent our days on the beach or by one of the pools. We also did some windsurfing and snorkeling and tried water-skiing for the first time. Also played some tennis in the evenings when it was a bit cooler. There is a fitness center and spa, the spa services are extra. We had a couples massage which was pricey but great. Evening entertainment was good but dinner outdoors was the highlight. Service was exceptional. The staff was so well trained and polite. The atmosphere at the hotel was one of laid back elegance which we really liked. We had a great vacation and will return. SK, MI ******* 6/08 Every year my husband and I spend a week at a different resort in the Caribbean. We've been visiting the Mayan Riveria the last few years and this year we decided to try a different island. We stayed at Sandals Dunn's River Resort near Ocho Rios and had a wonderful time. We had expected to stay in a Florence Grand Lux room but was upgraded to a better room with a view of the ocean at no additional charge. That surely added to our experience and got us off to a positive start. The restaurants were all very good, although not outstanding. The room was excellent, as were all the other amenities. The beach is nice, although on the small side, but the two pools are excellent. Our only negatives are a personal preference--we really enjoy spending time at the beach under umbrellas or under the palapas that are commen on the Mexican beaches but the few at Sandals were usually reserved for massage or wedding parties. So we spent most of our time around the pool. But even there the umbrellas were few and far between unless you got up at the crack of dawn and captured one. The staff was perhaps the most friendly and helpful of any place we've stayed. The total experience was wonderful. Tom, NJ ******** 9/07 - Amber, N.C. - We had an amazing time and would recommend this hotel to anyone as a honeymoon spot! The service was outstanding and the resort looks just like the pictures. We felt so spoiled the whole time we didn't want to leave. There is nothing bad to say about this place. Jamaica is beautiful and the people there are genuine and warm. The activities were lots of fun and there was a lot of variety. We also enjoyed the food and the mini bar. This is a great place to have an exciting and busy vacation or just be in your room with the beautiful view and your sweetie. The concierge service is worth the extra money!! ******** I must say Jamaica was something else!! Sandals Dunns River Falls was the best! My husband and I got married there in July and everything couldn't have been more perfect. The wedding was coordinated excellently. We had 14 people travel with us, the only dilemma we had was the expensive day passes for 6 of those who stayed at another hotel (due to Sandals accepting couples only)however we were aware of these charges beforehand. The service was exceptional. When we arrived the attendants seated the women, provided us with a glass of champagne and a spa pack. As we arrived at our room it was everything we expected. We were on the back side of the hotel between the gardens facing the ocean, it was a magnificient view. The rooms were immaculately cleaned daily with plenty of fresh towels. I never did turn on the TV-hello I'm on vacation to see the awesome beach and experience all there is to experience!!! The patio restaurant was magnificient. The best shrimp you will ever eat! And the Italian Restaurant was also very good. The snack bar was always flipping out jerk burgers and hamburgers and fries-and the alcohol...Everyone seemed to stand in the same line, so go down to the piano bar!! They are sure to give you a great creation and create many memories for you. The playmakers were awesome!!! Take the time to talk to them, it was quite interesting to hear how lucky they were to gain their positions and just how much money they make. Yes, I must say it got quite annoying listening to the locals just past the property on the other side of the gate yell "hey lady let me braid your hair"!!! I must say though all annoyance aside, they are a poor culture just trying to get a buck and they sell the same shirts the hotel gift shop does for a quarter of the price. They managed to keep quiet during our wedding ceremony and then cheered afterwards-soon going back to their business trying to earn a couple of dollars. The hotel was excellent!! However once you got outside of the property... Beware of drunken taxi drivers and locals selling drugs!! However if you do decide to stay there, which I highly recommend, and you plan to take back some of the great Appletons Rum, head across the street to the local grocery store, they sell it for half the price the hotel does, and if you fall in love with the jerk seasoning, they sell it for about $1 a jar! I am looking to going back next Summer! CT 12/07 ******** Just got back from the most amazing seven day vacation of my life. We got married on the beach at sandals and it was truely amazing. The people at sandals have this down to an exact science. They provide everything and make it very romantic and special. Our wedding coordinater was wonderful and took care of everything. Why have a big wedding with all of the worries when you can everything taken care of for you. The reception, flowers, pictures, video, dinner served by a white gloved waiter, champange breakfast set up on the balcony......it was beautiful . And the grounds were just spectacular. The best thing were the people. Everyone is just so friendly and just want to make sure that you are having a great time. The watersport center took us for a great hobbie cat ride complete with pictures......what wonderful great people. We will definately go back!!!! AB 2/08 ******** We had a fabulous time at Sandals Dunn's River Resort. The staff was incredibly hospitable, especially the "entertainment" crew. The food was great too, especially the jerk chicken and pizza, which they made right outside. Can't say enough about how much fun it was, they had all kinds of activities and games to play. We played a lot of pool, ping pong and croquet. We met lots of nice people. The place was beautiful and so clean. We went to Dunn's river falls on the catamaran cruise, it was a blast. Also, we went zip lining (like Tarzan), through the Jamaican rainforest. It was awesome, as was the staff. 3/2007
