6/08 There is a brand new highway from Montego Bay airport along the coast. The trip from the airport took all of 10 minutes. Rose Hall Resort started to impress from the start and held consistent throughout.
Check in was fast and painless. We got upgraded to an Ocean View room which was clean, new and roomy. The plasma tv had 30 + channels including ESPN, HBO & MAX. No issues with the room or housekeeping during the stay.
The food was the best that I have encountered at an AI. Breakfast was fabulous. Lunch was OK although somewhat limited if you did not eat at the buffet, and dinner was superb, both at the buffet as well as the speciality restaurants. The Three Palms in particular was as good as any U.S. or European three star one.
The pools and beach were everything that I was looking for. Main pool was large and the right temperature. The water park was perfect for kids and adults alike. One note: If kids drive you nuts don't go here. I personally did not have a problem as I stayed mainly with the beach and main pool but there were a lot of kids at the resort in general and the waterpark in particular.
The bars were pretty good although they could have used an indoor bar with TV. I found out that my AI package did not include top shelf booze but that was not a big deal to me.
The employees of Rose Hall did all they could to make my family's vacation fantastic and they succeeded!
The management of this resort clearly has their act together. I plan to return next year if possible. Ben, Michigan

5/08 We went to the Rose Hall in May 2008. My best friend and I just wanted to get away and lay on a beach for a week and man did we pick the right resort to do it at. The pool is wonderfully relaxing especially during the hot part of the day. The beach was nice and clean and they had waiters/waitresses bring out fresh fruit to the people who were on the beach. We also had a massage while laying in a cabana on the beachfront. We had heard stories of single women having problems in Jamaica before we left on our trip and I would have to say while on the resort we always felt very secure. We have said that we will go back and not do any sigtseeing next time, just spend the entire time at the resort! I would definitely recommend this hotel! Jill, NM

4/08 We just returned from a week long stay a Rose Hall and wish we could have stayed longer. It is definitely a great family resort. We took our 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter who thought it was the best. We went during a peak week and although it was at max capacity we did not feel crowded.
Like many resorts, you do need to go out early to save a chair especially if you want to be in a particular area or in need of some shade. I wake up early anyway so it was not a big deal. You can get fresh towels whenever you want, but you need to put some "personal items" along with the towels to hold the lounge chairs. We liked to sit in view of the slides to see the kids if we were not on the slides with them. The kids do need to be 4 ft. to ride the tube slide and they should be supervised on the body slide if they are not good swimmers. The lazy river and slide area is definitely more families which is exactly what we wanted. The kids as well as ourselves made alot of friends. The other pool seemed to draw more the adults w/o kids or with teenagers off on their own. We stayed by the slides the whole week. There are quite a few quiet areas by the "family" pool if you want to be alone.
They offer a ton of activities for kids and families to participate in together. They also have a great power walk on the back nine of the golf course. Definitely a challenging walk on some steep hills. They also offer some fitness classes including spinning. You do need to sign up the day before since the bikes are limited. I loved the walk and did it daily.
The service was outstanding and the restaurants were great. Favorites were Three Palms and Luna de Mare. Delicious surf and turf (upcharge of $20) at Three Palms but well worth it. Try to book in advance if possible or right upon arrival. You can also check for cancellations if you want to visit them again. If you do not see something on the menu they go out of their way to accomadate you. The buffet is always a backup if you do not want to make a reservation. Food was exceptionally good there with a wide variety of choices. A few nights they had strip steaks and always had a stir fry station. So many choices I can't even remember.
We're already planning a trip for next year. We met many families that have been going there for years for obvious reasons. We wanted an all-inclusive resort that you did not want to leave the property or need to. They do offer many excurisons if you want to go siteseeing. We loved the Dreamer snorkel trip in Montego Bay.
All in all a wonderful resort that we're counting the days to go back again. Dan, Michigan

3/08 -
This was my family's 4th trip to Rose Hall Resort. They have remodeled just about everything. I love the renovation. It really is beautiful. The new pool could have been more attractive, maybe with a waterfall or swimup bar. It looks like an olympic swimming pool and very few people use it. The waterpark is awesome. We spend most of the day there. Nice swimup bar, slides, lazy river. There weren't as many food choices as there used to be. I liked the new part where they cook stir fry or pasta for you, but the kids had a hard time finding something they liked this time. They used to have a ton of bread and we couldn't find any this time. I also don't like the limited seating outside for meals. I like to be outside when I'm in Jamaica and now it seems you are stuck in the corner of a building and you can't feel the breeze. Staff was great. We will probably go back, definitely to Jamaica. It's our "One Love"!! Scott, Michigan

2/08 First of all, I've been to this resort more than eight times. I can't tell you how the other hotel's are because this is like home to me and my family. From the first trip to this resort, the connection was there with all the staff. Everyone one was so welcoming and the staff will make sure that you enjoy your stay. With the renovations everything is even more wonderful. This resort is great for kids of all ages and adults, especially since the renovation was completed. It is handicap accessible, so everyone can have a good time. For anyone looking for the ultimate vacation, this is the place to go. The rooms are wonderful and very clean, the food is amazing, and the entertainment is enjoyable. Next time planning a vacation this is the place to be. I can't say how much I LOVE it!! Mary, IL
