Beaches Boscobel - Jamaica

This All-Inclusive Resort is specially designed for families. While others may allow children, at Boscobel Beach they celebrate them. Kids love Boscobel for the fun and games. Parents love it because it is the best vacation value around. The comprehensive Kids program gives children hours of supervised fun while parents can spend hours of magical time together. Weddings and renewal of vows can be pre-arranged and are free.

7/08 - The resort was beautiful. People work very hard to make you happy. The food was ok. I felt it was the same food everyday prepared differently. The resort was very clean and air-conditioned. The pool was one of the best places to be. It was beautiful, huge, and had a swimup pool bar that was available to the kids as well. The beach was disappointing. It was small and the swimming area was awful. The water was waist high and that was it. They didn't allow you to swim further than that due to the seaweed and coral. The sand was brown and hard, not like other areas of white powerdered sand. The airport ride was a disaster. It was at least 3 hours. We wouldn't go back because of that and there are plenty of nicer places to go for the price. TJ

5/08 - Our family of 5 went to Beaches Boscobel in May. It is true that the bus ride is 2 1/2 hours. The air conditioned bus was hot going and coming. When we arrived at the resort I wasn't very impressed with the lobby, it was hot. We were offerred a drink and a cool cloth.
We stayed in a family luxury suite and it was very spacious-- not luxorious, but comfortable and clean. There were no bugs and the air conditioner worked great. The 5 of us were not cramped at all.
We found the food to be good. There is no air conditioning anywhere but Evelyn's. It is also true that the service was sporatically slow, especially in the morning. Lobster was served on Friday night at the buffet and we had 2 great meals at Arizona. Overall, the help was friendly and helpful.
The beach was a bummer-- very small, crowded, no waves. It is really carved into a cliff, so there is no sandy beach area on either side.
The pool area was fine. Towels are usually available, but sometimes run out. The bars served name brand alcohol (Absolut, Appleton Rum, Jack Daniels, etc), but you had to ask for it. If you didn't they gave you the crappy stuff.
We took tours to Dunns River Falls and River Tubing. Both were great.
The evening entertainment was fair, but we were tired and in our rooms early for the most part.
We had great weather and overall had a memorable week but probably wouldn't go back. Steve, OR

3/08 - My husband and I recently traveled to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. What a great trip. We hadn’t ever been to Jamaica, so we didn’t know much about the island. We contacted Cherie at vacationagent.net and asked for some guidance.
Cherie was very informative and booked us at the Beaches Resort in Ocho Rios. We had a non-stop flight out of Detroit to Montego Bay. She was able to work around our schedule and found us a great price. We loved the idea of it being non-stop. The Sandals/Beaches reception employees were wonderful at the Jamaican airport. They showed us to their lounge for refreshments. They had us and our luggage on a bus within no time. We had a 2 hour ride to the resort which enabled us to see a lot of Jamaica and its culture.
The Beaches resort was very nice and we had an awesome room. The staff was great and quite willing to please, and always with a smile! We booked the ‘all-inclusive’ package, so we didn’t have to mess with paying food bills, tips etc. Boy, was that nice. The resort had great food and plenty of places to eat and drink. The nightly entertainment was good and we enjoyed the local talent. We weren’t ever in need of anything. The staff cleaned our room daily, restocking the frig, making and turning down the bed etc. The only thing we didn’t like about the resort was that it was a hike to the ocean and the beach front was quite small! We were hoping to spend more time on the beach, but just too small and crowded. The grounds on the resort were just beautiful. The staff even cut down a couple of coconuts for us to sample!
Cherie suggested that we visit Dunn’s River Falls. What an adventure! We loved it! Just incredible!! I would recommend that to anyone visiting Jamaica! We were able to book it, shuttle to and from, right at the resort! So easy and a great memory!! We also took a cab to Sandals Resort in Ocho Rios for dinner one evening. We were able to use any of their facilities with our package. Nice perk!
We had a wonderful week in Jamaica and look forward to booking our next trip with Cherie in the near future. Sandy and Tom

3/08 - We stayed 4 nites at Beaches. Room was exceptionally big. Plenty of room for our family (2 teenage boys). Service was excellent, food was good, drinks were great. The pool was pretty cold for me. The boys went in, but only when it was really hot out. The kids had fun on the water slides, played basketball, tennis, and golf. Nightly entertainment was good.
The beach was nice, but the water was pretty unusable. The seaweed covered most of the area. The staff worked really hard to keep it clean though. The beach was really small, so if you are looking for long strolls on the beach, this isn't the place. Also, it was a long hike up and down stairs to the beach, unless you took the elevator, but we never did.
We love Jamaica and will go back, but not here. It's a long way from the airport. We have been to Rose Hall Resort 4 times and love it there (newly remodeled). Their lazy river and water park is excellent. CP, Michigan
