6/08 We just returned on June 12th and this was our first time at the Iberostar in Cozumel. We have stayed at the Iberostar in the Playa del Carmen area before. One thing can be said for Iberostar is they are consistently good.
I loved this resort because it was smaller and easy to get around.
The rooms are smaller but was fine for us.
The food is typical resort food, always fresh and a good variety to choose from. We loved the ice cream that is available at lunch and dinner.
The pool was nice size. You might need to wear your water shoes in the pool, several people cut their foot on the bottom tiles.
We never had a problem finding a lounge chair and the swim up bar was great, never had to wait very long for a drink.
The beach is very rocky you will definitely need water shoes. You can find some great shells to take home!
The Iberostar people are very hard working and do a wonderful job keeping the activities going. We loved it and definitely would go back. Thanks for a wonderful trip! Ann, IN

6/08 - Just returned from the Iberostar Cozumel. The island of Cozumel felt very empty and vacant when we were there. Not many cars on the roads and the resort did not feel at full capacity.
The resort itself is your typical all inclusive. Wrist bands, weak drinks, towel check out with a card, and reservations at the "nicer" restaurants. The food was average. The Mexican restaurant (where you have to make reservations) was no better than the Cozumel Buffet restaurant. None of us got sick after drinking the water from the tap.
Most people there were families and older couples without kids. For the price we paid it was decent. The snorkeling off the pier was good. We did the catamaran snorkel tour that you can book in the lobby. You get to see both the Palancar reef and Colombian reef. CT, MA

April, 2008 - Our family stayed at the Iberostar Cozumel for spring break this year
and loved it. The resort is beautiful. The rooms are in thatched
roofed villas. 8 villas per unit. Each has a hammock on the porch.
The resort is very clean and well kept. There are pink flamingos,
colorful parrots and iguanas within the resort. The food was good
and the staff was very nice and always eager to be of service.
If you are looking for a resort that gives a real feel of
being in Mexico, then this would be a good resort for you.
The resort is in the nature reserve and so you can't rent jet skis,
etc. But the plus is there wasn't ever anyone bugging us to purchase
goods on the beach.
If you are a diver or would like to get their diving
certificate, there is a dive center within the resort. My husband and
two of my four children all got there diving certificates and LOVED
it. The second largest reef in the world is right next to the resort!
The beach isn't the greatest, I've seen much better but we still spent
plenty of time on the lounges on the beach and/or taking out the sea
kayaks. Judy - Minnesota

4/08 The Iberostar resort is towards the southern end of the resorts on Cozumel making it well away from the hussle and bustle of downtown Cozumel. The beach is fantastic, with lots of shade and great views. Service is impeccable with very friendly and outgoing staff. The resort itself is very well maintained and the grounds are truly spectacular. The bungalow arrangement is far better than a high-rise on the beach.
On the down side, the food, though good, became repetitive over the course of a week. We ended up eating off the resort a few times. The water at the beach was not swimable while we were there - possibly because of strong current they were experiencing. The water was cloudy, and the beach itself near the water very rocky.
If you snorkel, DO NOT go out with the outfit associated with the Iberostar. They combined snorkelers and divers, so the reefs were too deep for the snorkelers. Luckily, 50 yards down the beach is Alberto's, which offers small snorkeling tours. Chula was our guide, and he was able to take us to great reefs and show us all sorts of sea life. That is the way to go if you are down there. TM-Maryland

2/2008 My husband and I spent a week in February at the Iberostar in Cozumel and loved it. The grounds were beautiful with lots of exotic birds and animals (huge lizards). Loved the bungalo style rooms. Service and food was really good. We rented a jeep and ventured out around the island and had a blast. We went to a neat little restaurant that was like a hut and had excellent Mexican food and beer, of course! My husband went scuba diving and he loved it. This is a great resort to experience Cozumel. The island is full of wonderful things to see and do. I can't wait to go back!
